you need to manually upgrade to 5.6.0 first, then upgrade to 5.6.1.2 through the dashboard if you choose. Check out this thread for more info:

Thank you... I tried that but had other issues in the process. So, I opted for a clean install of 5.6.1.2 using Bluehost's Simple Scripts/Mojo. I imported all Block, Files, Packages, and Themes and then installed all Addons and Themes, deleted cache, and enabled Pretty URLs. All's well so far. I then exported the Database from the other site version that I am currently running on 5.5.2.1, accessed the newly created 5.6.1.2 database, selected all tables, dropped them, and then finally imported the 5.5.2.1 tables into the new database. The website is fine with one exception. I shows that I am running 5.5.2.1 and says there are no updates yet it is actually running 5.6.1.2. The Dashboard configuration confirms that it is in fact 5.6.1.2. So, the website is displaying exactly as it should yet it is not showing the correct C5 version. How can I change this?

My guess is this is a database entry. Did you backup and restore the database manually, or did you use the c5 core backup and restore from backup process?
