I've spent the better part of the day trying every permutation I can think of to place a downloadable file link in a block, using the Add Block/File function and also trying the two addons I could find which are "Downloads List" and "List Files From Set." I mined the web and this forum for answers but none of them worked.

The results are always the same: A Page Not Found message.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Shouldn't be so ridiculously difficult to create a download link.
