File Import

I have hundreds of files that are living on the same server as my new C5 5.73 site. I would like to import them into the new site. Is there a way to point to a directory and import all the files in said directory? Right now it seems like I'd have to enter the individual URLs one at a time, which would take me days to do since there are so many.

On another note, is there a way to import files directly into a Set in File Manager, rather than having to go file by file after upload and assign? That would be a huge time saver.

Thanks!

I must admit to not having tried this in 5.7 but in the file manager under the 'more options' link next to upload files you should have the option to add incoming. If you are able to copy all if your files into /files/incoming then you 'should' be able to import them.

The "more options" link gives you a screen with 5 fields to enter URLs (see attached file), which I think is for the url for a specific file. I tried entering the URL of the directory in order to import all of the files in it, but that did not work. So I guess I'm out of luck?

hi,
aren't you able to click on the tab that says 'add incoming'?

I think I just figured it out on my own. I had to FTP the files into directory application/files/Incoming. Then they show up when I click "more options", they show up in this list/ Clicking "Add Files" completes the process.

The documentation is very vague about this particular process. If there's another way of doing, I'd love to know.

Thanks!
