Guests Cannot Access PDF

Hello there,

I'm having some issues with guest permissions on PDF files. It seems to work fine on desktop browsers, but getting the following error in my logs when I access the file on my iPhone:

Type: admin_access_attempt
User: Guest
Action: Unauthorized Direct Secured Access attempted from (my IP) for file: Sample.pdf

I have checked the permissions in the PDF file, file set, page, etc. and guest has permissions to view the file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, viewing PDF's is a browser function instead of a site issue. Try adding an Iframe Block http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/iframe/... and using it to display your PDF. I haven't tested this with an iPhone but its worked out well on other devices.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I am using pdf.js to display the PDF files within an iFrame. Seems to work fine on chrome / firefox / IE on my desktop, but on the mobile device, it is not working. When I received these errors before on my desktop, it was due to permissions errors, so I assumed it was the same thing going on in some way.

Thanks!

I'm at a loss then. (PDF's are the bane of my site layouts) I hope someone else has a solution that works other than linking to outside services.
