Help - Rebuilding exsiting site

I am trying to rebuild a website and I have no former web designer knowledge.

I have updated the main page thumbnail images and I have successfully linked
them to the page leading you to the gallery I would like for them to go to. The text
however I have is not in the same block as the image like other pages.

can anyone give me a small amount of guidance on this?

I have screen shots of what I am working with attached.

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help a beginner like me attempt to
learn the ropes. : )

Would you be able to provide a link to the actual website?

Also, if you could describe what you are trying to do that would help, so we can know if it is a problem with the blocks and layout or with the styles for the site.

It's hard to tell exactly what is going on here with the areas and the blocks.

On the page that is correct the image is above the page-overlay div and then the content is inside of the page-overlay div.

On the one where it is not looking right the image is within the page-overlay div and the content is below.

I have a banner that is rotating through a set of images and then I have two boxes below one labeled as our products gallery that will lead you to a gallery of images on a different site.

I would like the label for products gallery to be onto of the image you will see is floating on top of my banner.

Yes, I gathered that from your screen shots.

The problem is that your images onhttp://www.samsmead.com/index.php/products/... need to be above the page-overlay div and the content needs to be inside that div.
