help with private message replies
Permalink
Private Messages are going out fine, but my users are having problems replying to the messages.
Since we don't have email hosting with our c5 hosting package, we use external smtp with a gmail account that we set up to use with our website.
The emails going out seem to indicate that the users can reply to the private message without needing to go to the message center (see screenshot). However, typing above the line indicated and hitting 'reply' only sends the message back to our gmail address. The reply never makes it back to the original user.
I tried editing the private messages mail importer to use the gmail account pop 3 settings, but that didn't change anything as far as I can tell. I also tried viewing/replying to the original private message in different browsers (IE 8, Firefox 3.6.6) and in Thunderbird without any luck.
I would love suggestions. I'm still pretty new to Concrete 5 (although I'm loving it more every time I use it! :-). It took a while to get the email set up in the first place. I'm not 100% sure I edited the mail importers correctly...
I know just enough php to look at the mail templates and change the email text. I'm getting frustrated enough that I want to just modify all the emails to tell the users to go to their message center and reply there...
