Hide menu links if permission is denied

From a UI standpoint, if permission isn't allowed, I'd prefer not to show the links. By showing the menu item, clicking it, and being re-directed to an access denied/login page seems counter productive.

Anyone know a way to hide the menu item if permission is not allowed?

I'm not sure if I can follow your problem.

What you describe is what c5 does by default! Only if you enable the option when you're adding an autonav block you see links to pages you don't have access to.

I left that part out... I've been looking into the functionality of the C5 and it's definitely intriguing. Theming is amazingly easy, but I've been spending most of my time in the dashboard.

Specifically speaking, if I set a group to not be allowed to edit groups, I would not want the menu link to show under the "Users and Groups" category.
