Home page will not exclude from nav

Permalink 1 user found helpful
When I go to the page properties for my home page and select Custom Attributes->Exclude From Nav, but nothing happens. When I open the settings again the text for the attribute is still grayed with a strikethrough, but the home page button still shows in the nav. Does anyone have any clues what could be causing this?

after selecting the attribute, make sure you select the check box to enable it in the same dialogue.

Edit: I believe it may be a caching issue if you're not seeing the results right away. It didn't seem to work for me at first, but after an every 5 minute cache clear it started working and not displaying the home page in the nav!!

This was the issue :/

Don't know how I didn't see that checkbox. I assumed when it went gray with a strikethrough the changes would take effect as soon as I clicked "Save".

Thank you much for the pointer.

Silly question but are you refreshing the page after you set it to 'Exclude from nav'? Mine is gone immediately after excluding it but I have to refresh the page to make it happen.
