How do I clear the Dashboard 'System Notifications' cache?

I have adjusted the "System Notifications" cache in the dashboard to pull from my own RSS feed rather than the concrete RSS feed. My items are appearing on the dashboard but concrete items that had been listed are still there as well.
Is there an easy way to flush and rebuild the System Notifications list?
Is there a database table that stores the system notifications and if so would it be safe for me to just delete the entries I don't want to appear?

There is a database table, its named SystemNotifications. I didn't look through the code but I don't see why you couldn't just delete them.
What file(s) need changing to alter the RSS source ?
My Concrete5 (5.4.2.1) is not getting regular system notifications in the dashboard. Last system notification was from Jan 21st. I have 2 other Concrete 5 (5.4.2.1 sites) that are OK. Does anybody have any idea why I would not be getting regular notifications. Or what to check?
