How to exclude certain blocks from search index?

Hey Guys,
I am using a custom page type as a "master template" for the site. It contains a few blocks that should be found in the left navigation on every page. One of the blocks is a content block that says "Project Wait Time: x Weeks".
The problem is, when I search for "project" I get a hit from every page in the sitemap that has this block in the left nav, which is undesirable.
How can I exclude that content block from the search index?
