How to have landing page(index.php) interacting with database/controller ??

Hi,
I am new to concrete 5 , so far its really fun working with . But i am in problem as i need to get home page as List of articles and also have pagination ?

Any idea will be of great help

Assuming the articles are setup as pages, you would just add a page list block.
