How to set up a section of the website which can only accessed by selected users
Permalink
Hi
I'd appreciate help with this...
I would like to set up two different sections of a concrete5 website which can only be viewed by certain users. Of course these pages would not show on the autonav. Also, these users would not have any access to the dashboard or be able to edit any pages or content therein.
I am really not sure how best to go about this.
Any suggestions please
Thanks

Hi vernb,
Like hutman pointed out, its a "Permissions" setting. If you haven't set Advanced Permissions, Simple (the stock) permissions can also be set per page from the sitemap or even from the page itself (hover the edit button and see it in the drop down). You'll be given an option of "Who Can View This Page" with a tic box in front of "Guest", "Registered User", and "Administrators". Just make sure the last two are selected and the first one is not :)
If I remember right, the page may show on Autonav, but only when someone is signed in.

Go to the Full Sitemap and select the parent page, or whatever pages you want to change the permissions for and click "Set Permissions" from the Assign Permissions dropdown select "Manually" now you should be able to click View and select which groups can view the page, if you remove Guest from that list then only the users from the selected groups and the Super User will be able to access the page.
By default only users in the Administrator group and the Super User have Dashboard access.
