How to set up additional page paths (slug aliases)?

With 5.6 one could set up extra path path URL aliases to help with the redirection of links from old versions of the site etc. How does one do this in 5.7 please?
Thanks to this thread >https://github.com/concrete5/concrete5/issues/350... I have found out that this functionality is indeed part of 5.7. It can be found as an option called 'Locations' under Page Settings. However, the reason I could not find it is because this option is not available for the home page, which is what I was looking at when searching.
