How to show GST in Core Commerce receipt

Permalink 3 users found helpful
Hi

I'm building a simple shop with the Core Commerce addon. I've included GST in the prices to keep things simple (as all customers will be from Australia). Problem is, now I need to show the GST amount in the receipt! Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks!

Go to:
/index.php/dashboard/core_commerce/payment/tax/
(or to click through to it, go to 'Payment and Sales Tax', click on the little arrow up in the corner of that dialog and pick 'Tax' from the drop down')

Enter the name for your tax, I normally call mine 'GST included', as it reads well on an invoice, enter the rate, pick Australia as the country, pick Yes for Tax Included in Price (as you've said you've entered items GST inclusive). I normally select Yes for Include Shipping in Tax as the shipping you charge would have GST as well to pass onto the customer.

Hi,
Just one more thing to add to mesuva excellent explanation, if you don't select the option to add shipping to the taxes, the tax will only show up on the shipping screen during checkout but not in the first discount/billing... screens. In my version anyway.
