How To: Use an add-on purchase for one site with a different site

Hi there,

I just made the silly mistake of purchasing an add-on on one of my marketplace accounts to be used on a site that was connected to a different marketplace account (the client wanted their own, and I made the purchase on our firm's account). Fortunately, I discovered that there is a way to apply the add-on to the project I need to use it with! Here's what you do:

1. Log in to the concrete5.org website using the marketplace account that the c5 site is currently linked to

2. Click on the My Account link in the upper left corner, above the c5 logo

3. Click on Projects on the right sidebar

4. Select the project you want the add-on to be applied to

5. In the "Management Team" box in the middle, add the username of the c5 account that you accidentally purchased the add-on with (in my case, my firm's username). Then hit save of course!

6. Click on Edit Project in the sidebar, then in the Choose New Owner section in the middle, change the owner to the account that has the addon licensed to it.

7. Switch accounts on the c5.org site to the one you just set as the owner

8. Return to the project details page, and you will see a button to license an add-on on your account to this site.

You're done! Hope this helps...

I had a similar thing happen to me. I found your fix when I searched c5's site. You saved me alot of time. It's pretty nice how they have everything setup to allow this to be painless.
