I'm losing Page permissions some how

I've got a page called "Members Only" and I've set the permissions "Manually" to allow certain users groups to read it.
I set it (manually... save the page come back and the view the permissions and they have been remove or not saved.
I have user who use a login page and are directed to the Members only unpon successful access.
Not sure whats happing here - sound like gremlins
is Members Only and reserved page?
