So I bought the Concrete Calendar app through the app store for $55 bucks and I'm working to get it setup.
When I put a calendar on my page with "Inspiration Black" theme loaded (with it's excessively over-riding CSS templates), it is almost impossible to read because the text on the calendar is about the same color as the background of the calendar cells.
So, I installed the iCal add-on, and with that template installed, the calendar is much easier to read. But when iCal is in place, I can not add any events. I've tried clicking on the text of the dates, clicking around the cells.. double clicking, right clicking, bazzillion clicking and it just has no interest in events.
Suggestions?

I found a solution for this. I thought I'd post it here in case anyone else ran into something similar.
The Inspiration Black Theme has a lot of CSS formatting, and changing any of that to work better with the Calendar causes the rest of the pages to look bad.
So I thought I would play around with changes to the source files for the Calendar add-on. They're located in the ../packages/calendar folder. There's a subfolder called CSS with the calendar.css file.
I made few color changes in there, and now the Calendar add-on looks really good.
I'm going to uninstall the iCal add-on as it seems to be a bit problematic for my taste.
