Image sets not working

I have a client that has a number of image sets as he is travelling the globe.
However, he is no longer able to allocate images to sets. When he tries to allocate and update the site hangs.
Is there a maximum number of image sets we can use?

There shouldn't be any maximum number, are you able to log in and try to do the same and watch the ajax call for errors? Often this is due to a PHP error behind the scenes that you can only see using the Developer Tools in the browser.
I will try that.
