Image Slider Updates Crash all Concrete5 sites on server for 10-20 mins!
I'm at my wits end for this, this issue doesn't seem to be reported.
We are running a number of Concrete5 version8 sites on an Apache server. Everything works great until it comes time to update an Image Slider. Any changes here causes a slow load, then all Concrete5 sites on the server return "Connect timed out error" for anywhere from 10 - 20 minutes!!!!
In-house IT has combed the errors logs multiple times, NOTHING is showing up when this happens. Apache keeps running just fine, simply Concrete5 is not loading.
Has anyone experienced this before or able to shed any kind of light on this issue? There are little to no resources available for the newest versions of Concrete.

1) Custom theme
2) Default Image Slider block
3) No errors in the console
4) Image format .jpg, 2000px wide by 1200px tall

The issue occurs during the launch of the edit, by the looks of it.
When the block opens to edit, clicking on one of the images of the slides to update, this is the moment it slows right down and crashes.

Couple questions:
1) Are you using the Elemental theme or another theme?
2) Are you using the core "Image Slider" block or an add-on?
3) Do you have any javascript errors on your page?
4) What size/type of images are you using (png, jpg, svg)?
Does the site crash if you edit/save the block but don't make any changes, or only when you make a change and then save?
