Images Stretched
Permalink
Hi,
I have been builing my first c5 site and everything seemed fine until I viewed the site on my laptop with Ineternet Explorer. When viewing in IE many of the jpeg images are stretched. I have searched the forums but cant find an answer on how to rectify this.
it all seemed ok on my PC using Firefox.

Hi Thanks for the reply, I don't think its an issue with the image size as C5 is set to scale them automatically.
I'm not sure if its a problem with the theme I am using which is Lucid. Everything displays ok in Firefox but I notice that in IE rather than being full screen the site has borders down each side.
I dont know what to do to check it, if I change to a different theme will I lose anything I have built so far?

Is the lucid theme a payed one? Than how about to contact the lucid support team.
If your are thinking about to change your theme you will not losing your content. It just depends on the area names you content is in. If the naming conventions is different than some blocks will disappear on the new theme, but they will not be deleted, there are still present in the database, there are just not rendered. If this happens you can go back to the lucid theme and move all blocks in question to an area that is present in both themes i.e. the main area. This way you can move your content to your new theme.

I did get a reply from Formigo the Lucid developers which was
[Quote]Thanks for buying one of our themes.
This is not something we have ever seen before but after Googling your issue it seems like there may be an issue with the fact that you have hard coded the image sizes in to the actual image. You would probably be better sizing the images as necessary (ie the correct size) and then import them that way.
I'm not sure this is a theme specific problem but certainly try as a above and then let me know how you get on. The dreaded IE

I am trying to work out how to remove the hard coded image dimensions so I can try that.

I have managed to correct the issue by constraining the height to 200 in the settings, I am guessing that the problem is that although the width of the block is set in the theme the height isnt.
It makes loading images tiresome though!

Maybe: go to edit mode -> click on that image -> click edit -> set the "max-width" or "with" value for that image if this is possible or try to remove that value completely.
