Index JWPlayer help

Hey there. So, I'm trying to install JWPlayer myself, as I don't have money to buy the plugins. The part I'm stuck on is where it says to insert
<script type="text/javascript" src="/jwplayer/jwplayer.js"></script>
into the header of the page where the videos will be displayed, therefore I need to insert that into index.php. My question is, how should the file be layed out? Perhaps someone could write me up an index file with that correctly put in. I mean, I tried to do it, but got confused and got errors when putting in head tags as PHP just gave me errors.
