Inline Block Within a Block?

Is it possible to have an "inline" block that can be inserted by the user into the content of another block? For instance, let's say I've created a block that generates a special hyperlink "on the fly" based upon some data. I'd like the user to be able to insert that "block" (an anchor tag really) anywhere within the content of a page, such as via the rich editor or the HTML block.

Is it possible? Can anyone point me to some info or sample code?

Thanks,

-Steve

no, that's not possible unfortunately. are you just wanting to split up the page into a more complete layout or something? (in that case check out the area splitter block in the marketplace)

Thanks for the reply, Tony. Perhaps I'm going about it the wrong way. I mean, my block is working fine, but having a hyperlink just sitting there by itself in a block isn't flexible enough for my needs. Maybe I should be looking at extending the content block. Hmm...
