integrating my own design

I'm a designer trying to put their portfolio online. I've put together my own design templates (home, section, listing, child) and want to integrate into c5 cms. I can't see any instructions as to how to do this (I can see how to choose existing themes but I don't want these). Can someone give me some straight forward, plain English instructions or direction to instructions on the c5 site.

Search the howtos for 'theme'. The one that gives pretty much everything you need to know is

There are several other lighter weight howtos that are also worth reading, perhaps first for a gentle introduction, but the above howto is the closest to a current definitive reference you can get.
