Invalid feed address

Hi :)

I'm new to Concrete5 and still discover the whole thing.

However, I built my site and am looking for creating an RSS feed so that my potential subscribers know when I update the site.

I looked through all threads and most used kind of rss is the one that comes with the list add-on.

However, when I create an rss with this module, and try to submit the link that is bond to the rss icon, I always get the "invalid feed address" message. The link is quite long, and doesn't really look like an rss one. In addition pretty urls are enabled and work properly with the whole site but the rss isn't pretty at all :D

Does someone has a solution to fix this problem, please?

Thanks in advance :)
Dom.

PS. Please take note that I'm a French speaker and a baby in Concrete5 and programming ;)

Hi

You shoudl try this package on the Concrete5 Marketplacehttp://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/rss-feed-manager/...
Looked into this myself for a site and this looks like a very polished rss creator :)
Also, your comments appear to say that you want to create rss feeds, but the block that comes with Concrete5 will only display rss.

Indeed, I'd like to be able to submit my site rss to rss directories and allow my visitors to subscribe to my rss.

I alreay looked into the script you mention however, I don't want to spend money before making sure I'll keep the site in Concrete5; the same goes for the drop down navigation bar add-on.

Must make sure I'll be able to make the most of Concrete5 before buying anything, but since the site has lauched I definitely need an rss.

So looking for a basic rss for now.

I see, well if you already have rss and you are just adding the feed into the displayer that comes with Concrete5, then I'm at a loss as to why it wont illustrate correctly I'm afraid unless the feed you are entering is in fact incorrect?
Have you tested the link you enter into COncrete5 directly into a browser, might be a quick way to see if it is in fact the C5 block or the feed address itself? Just a thought.

When I paste the rss link in browser, I get a page with my new articles, but when I paste this link into any displayer (even the one that comes with Concrete5) I get an error message. I couldn't submit it to Feedburner to get a feed url, nor any other directory...

If access (Dashboard->Settings->Access) is set to members or private the RSS block gives the invalid rss feed error. And the rss reader receives a html page saying that the access is restricted.

Thanks for the explanation, however, I just notice that it works now... and definitely don't know what changed for this to work.
