Is there a way to cross-sell related products?
Hello-
I'm looking for a way to offer related products for a customer to buy in the checkout process -- or some way for the customer to choose multiple products at once to add to their cart.
First, we have a complex product that requires the purchase of add-ons, so I need an easy way to walk the customer through buying all the items they need. Second, it would be nice to cross-sell accessories, related items, etc.
I could use the customer choices feature for the complicated product, but this might cause an issue when exporting the orders and importing to QuickBooks where each option is a different inventory item.
Thanks!
Amanda

Maybe a whole suite of overlapping groups, each group being a product and applicable accessories. You can then display a group list at the bottom of the product page.
Ok, this might work, put the products into different file sets and have a product listing across the bottom.
I was thinking that maybe for our complicated product where you have to choose each addon - maybe I could put multiple product blocks onto one page? The issue here would be trying to delay the cart redirect... Or would there be a way for the customer to choose a quantity for each product on the page, and then hit one add to cart button for all the products they selected?

You can do product list blocks that only show one group each. So you could have pages with 2 blocks, one for the featured product, then a product list block below or to the side with all accessories in the group.
I don't know about the multiple add in 1 go. That is beyond my limited experience.

Man, I really love Concrete and use it for my personal business, so when my work's site went down, I suggested it... but I am running into some road blocks. Much more complicated than my simple site at home.
Thanks for your help!

Did you ever come up with a workable solution to your issue? I am trying to do something similar and would like to know how you managed it.
No, not really. I created a product list and copied it to my global scrapbook that only shows 3 items and set it to show Most Popular, and put that on each of the checkout pages, but it's not really the solution I was looking for. Our previous website used Magento, and it had a setting to define related products or upsell products and those would automatically show thumbnail links to those on the product listing page - I was hoping for an addon like that.
Sorry! If *you* find something, let me know. :)

I was also missing this functionalty.
So I was thinking about how to solve this and I think i got a great solution, only I need some help with this.
The idea,
I've got the following sitemap.
category A
- product a1
- product a2 - alias of b1
Accesoire
- product b1
The alias of b1 and b2 arent showing within a productlist but they are showing with a pagelist. That's great! The 'Product Search Data' is also available in the page attributes, so thats also great.
The only thing i'm missing is a product image and add to cart functionality. I hope someone can help me? Maybe how to reach the product object in the pagelist.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I read this thread and asking myself about creating a "multiple product attribute" type.
So you will just create a attribute key named "related product" and to your product, select one or multiple product related. After a simple customisation of the display product block to extract related product .. Make sense or ?

I'm not aware of a direct up sell addition to the ecommerce package, I think right now the only thing close would be the eCommerce Product Slider. Doesn't do exactly what I feel you are looking for, but it may be a way of manually up-selling products before the client reaches the checkout area.
