Legacy SEO references
Permalink
I have done the SEO on a client's site. Ranks very well. However, the previous version of the site still has references in Google's search engine.
What is the trick in getting rid of these references?
Or is it a matter of time and they will naturally drop off the search?
Both versions of the site do not share similar page names. I did not setup the SEO for the previous site.
Thanks.

Another idea is to use 301 redirects from the old site's pages to those of the new site. That way, your new site will inherit the SEO rankings from its predecessor.
You right. Good point.
I think in this Q he talks about the "technical" how to remove unwanted pages from search results 4ever (And not about "how to keep your old site SEO value on Redesign).

The old version of the site is on another URL?
If so you can remove the entire old site.

+ You can use Concrete5 build in attributes (if you see this pages on your site tree). remove from sitemap // Exclude From Search Index. This is if you "dont want" to delete this pages from the Tree.
If you dont have access to the old site "google console" - your client should talk with the old site developer (or host company) and get passwords.
