Licence for Free Add Ons

I wanted to clarify if a "Free" Add On in the marketplace could be used in a theme for commercial gain eg selling a theme/template on concrete5 or themeforest etc with the free add on as part of the package + attribution.

When I check some of the licences for free add on's they are different, some say :

You own your copy for use on one (1) site and the development environment for it. Use it on another site, you should buy it again. Don't sue us.
Which to me means for every template/theme i sell we have to register a copy each time and as its free where is the logic in that.

and other say:

to deal in the Software without restriction, including without limitation the rights
to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell
copies of the Software,
Which to me makes more sense for a free add on.

Each Add-On developer selects their own licensing. As you may be aware, "Free" can mean many things in software licensing, and "Free" Add-Ons in concrete5 are licensed under several different licenses. This is something you should contact the individual developer specifically and possibly consult a lawyer for the specifics of a particular license if you are unable to get the explicit permission of the develper in question.

Beyond the standard concrete5 license, some of the other licenses chosen by developers include MIT, GPLv2, and Creative Commons. You can visit opensource.org more more information on those.

Thanks Mike

I will contact the developer, just wish the licence structure were simpler to translate.
