It appears this functionality has been removed from the latest version without a grace period for incorrectly assigned addons, which I believe used to be there?

I was also looking to remove some now broken addons from my project.

Just came across the same problem. I purchased an ecomm add on a while ago that was never actually used on the site we bought it for so the license has been floating about for a while, unassigned.

A couple of months ago I wanted to experiment with the add on and so assigned it to a project. The project never came to fruition but it's still assigned.

We now have a use for the add on on a new site but I can't see an easy way to release and reassign the license to a new project.

(Currently using v5.6 of C5)

Anyone find a solution yet?

Apparently the only way you can reassign licenses now is to delete the whole project from your profile project area that has the add-on or theme you want to reuse, and that then frees it up again. Not a neat solution to a problem that didn't exist before.

I'd love someone from the the C5 Core Team to tell us why this facility has gone and when we can have it back again please?

Oh good grief!!
I've just spent an hour trying to disassociate a license that I somehow assigned to the wrong project. I was thinking I know I've done this before and there was a button to do it, now where was it???

Lucky for me, the project I associated it with was a test site so I can dump the project. Otherwise, this would be a royal pain.
