Lightbox WITH Zoom (like Ajax-zoom) anyone?

I have an artist who would like a grid of thumbnails of his work to pop up in lightbox, but then be able to zoom in on the detail - kind of like a combination of lightbox and jqZoom Image.

does something similar but it's a bit clunky. It would be nice just to be able to hover over the lightbox image and the whole thing zooms in or a lens area shows the extra detail.

Is there anything that offers this or is it feasible to adapt something existing?
Or is anyone up for creating a new Add-on?!

Hey Kevin,

I think there is a block (or several) with the zooming feature developed by Chadstrat and also by Andrew in c5 marketplace (correct me if I'm wrong)

or use the fancybox block (image gallery)http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/sortable-fancybox-galle... and tweak to your desired ajax zoom functionality, since it uses fancybox libraries (to your example link...)

Just my 2 cents..

I can't find anything that, when one clicks on a thumbnail, will bring an image up in a lightbox/fancybox type overlay and then allow you to zoom in further, by hovering the cursor, if you want to see the detail - am I missing something or did I not explain my requirements clearly?

As for adapting the fancybox block to enable jqZoom type functionality - that's beyond my knowledge level I'm sorry to say.

You did mentioned the zoom effect clearly, but I think I've seen a block with that functionality thumbnail/image > zoom > and an additional magnifying zoom is that correct?

It's probably in Marketplace or in the contributors personal sites. Probably I'm getting old already. I'll feed you if i ever come across it again.

It is used as a merchandise thumbnail/image/zoom magnifying and I think it suits your preference. Unfortunately it's been KIV until further notice. You can try to contact the developer for more info.

which is closest to what I want, if only it had a template whereby the thumbnails are all that's initially visible, when one clicks on a thumbnail that image pops up large (to say 50-70% of a high res image) in a lightbox/fancybox and then if you hover over that it zooms in even further.

I'm currently using the jqzoom, but the client really wants the image to pop up big and then delve even deeper as his work is famously phenomenally detailed!
