limit page types when adding a subpage

i have about 40 different page types, but i only want a couple to show up in the list when a user from a designated group adds a subpage. does anyone know how to do this?

yes - if you go to your sitemap
click on parent page and select permissions
set the dropdown to assign permissions manually
click the 'add subpage' permissions link
open the details tab and select your page types in there

i kept looking at that tab, but never clicked it. Thanks a lot for the help
