Linking a form to an email account

I have a contact form on my website so visitors can get in touch. But I can't find any information on how to link this reply form to my email account. Does anyone have this information, or ideas on where to find it? Thanks!

Hi carolyndale,

In concrete5 5.7, I believe it is "Notify me by email when people submit this form".

You must input your email address in the email setup. If your using gmail all your mail will thrown in the spam box, so far I haven't found a fix for it.

Thanks for the tip, but after I put in the email address, and then test it, I get an error message saying the authentication was incorrect. Do you know exactly which user name and password Concrete5 is looking for at this point? I've tried entering both for my email account, and both for the website itself. Nothing seems to work. Thanks for any advice!

What are your settings on the SMTP Method page?

Hello Concrete folks,
When I enter the email server address, plus the email username and password, I get an error message that says there's a local error, and that I should try again later. I have tried a number of times, over several days, and get the same error message.
Thanks for your help, so far.

I wish I had all the answers but I too suffer from the lack of response in these forums, concrete may be free but it doesn't come without a price. Watch the response I get now when something negative is posted or maybe just to prove me wrong there won't be a response.

Something just came to mind try getting in touch with your hosting provider I believe they need to do something on their end, I believe this is why it's not working out for you. I remember reading this once somewhere.

Good luck I hope you sought it out.

Thanks for your comments. I've talked with my hosting provider several times, and there's not not much they can do, apparently. Carolyn Dale Writer and editorwww.carolyndale.com

Just out of curiosity try opening a gmail account and see how that works and then try a hotmail account and see if messages get thrown into your spam box. I can't think of anymore ideas.
