Load statistics? yes/no

The statistics pane on the dashboard takes ages to load and I almost never really want to see it. It stops me from moving to any other page on the dashboard until it has loaded.
So the question is: How can I add a "show statistics? yes/no" option before the actual graph is called up?
This would make using C5 much faster and I don't see why this shouldn't be included in the default installation.
