Login doesn't work on some computers
Permalink
Hi everyone!
I recently have a big problem with login to concrete5 (v.5.6.1.2). Everything works fine on my computer at work (Vista, latest Firefox, latest Java) but at home (Win7, latest Firefox, latest Java) when I try to login, the site just refreshes the address fromhttp://mysite/login tohttp://mysite/index.php/login/do_login/... and nothing happens. I still have the login page and everytime I write user and password it just refreshes the page.
I tried to change the web browser settings (cookies, cache, etc.) but nothing works.
With the previous version of Concrete5 everything worked ok and I could login from whatever computer I wanted. Now I can login only from some computer while others make this strange error.
I connected my netbook to home network (same IP) and I logged in with no problem!
So anyone knows what may be the problem? Please help.
Best regards
Chris

I tried this, but didn't help. I don't think that this might be DNS problem. It's rather something with redirect in Concrete5, but I don't know what.
On computers that I can login from it doesnt't go to http://mysite/index.php/login/do-login/... but redirects me directly to mainpage (http://mypage/) only with extra top menu and dashboard. Maybe that will ring a bell for someone? :)

I have a similar problem with a client.
We have had a custom login page and the client reported that they couldn't login with Internet Explorer.
I have tried to disable the custom login page but still the client cannot login.
I have tested it also with my computer and I can reproduce the problem.
When logging in, it just refreshes the login page but does not give any error message.
This happens both with concrete5's own login page and a custom login page.

On your win7 machine go to the "run" command and type in
ipconfig /flushdnsWorth a try..
