Looking for site improvement recommendations / web designer

Hi,

I set up a site and would like to find someone that can help optimize the site, and also clean things up a bit. I'm a chemist/microbiologist, not a web designer and think that our site is an ok start but could use some improving. If anyone has any suggestions on a webdesigner please let me know.
