main menu drop-down box?

Hello, very new to C5 so I apologize for the basic question. I have created a test site with 3 main pages and 3 sub-pages:

page 1
Page 1a
page 1b
page 2
page 2a
page3

When I run my cursor over "page 1" and "page 2" in my main menu on the home page I don't see a dropdown box with the sub-pages. Am I missing a basic setting or do I need to program the drop-down?

Not all themes come with drop down navigation (several replacement options in the Marketplace however). You'll note, the stock themes often auto insert a menu of sub pages in a sidebar.
If you're comfortable in coding, there should be tips on this site to help you along... I'm a little lazy :-) and often use Superfish or one of the other Menus from the market.

If you want a really flexible (and nice looking) drop down menu, I'd suggest trying Mega Menu in the marketplace. It has a number of videos to show how to use and customize it.
