Make This Your Homepage Link

I want to have a link that says make this your homepage. I tried a couple html codes and they didn't work on Safari (maybe they only work on Internet Explorer). I know this is a hard question but does anyone have code that would work on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari for that?
i thought it'd just be easier for them to click...i thought i had seen such a thing on websites before...but maybe that was before it was a risk?
It used to be quite a popular thing to have on websites, however, it never really worked cross browser. Even less so now. Plus, no-one ever really clicks those links, so I wouldn't worry about it...

You could explain how to do it through browser preferences.
Don't think anyone will wont to do that?
