Members Module

Hi All,
Okay i'm getting ready to build my first site in C5. The first bit of functionality I need to figure out or build in how to build a members library. I'm guessing I could use the blog system are a starting point but thought i'd ask here to see if someone has already done it or if there is a tutorial or pre-exisiting module out there.
The second bit is a kind of portfolio system, each entry would have an image, text, links, and an associated gallery with the latest item having a kinda lauch date to it, again any ideas or leads on where I can find information to get a module like this or how to build one would be great.

Sadly not what I'm looking for. If i was coding in plain PHP i'd be fine but the client wants to be able to manage it themselves and C5 seems to make capable.
If it makes it easier the site is for a theatre company who have 2 committee's one for the charity site and one for the production side.
They want to be able to have a headshot and bio of each committee member on a specific page.
I'm playing with the built in user function to see if I can acheive the desired result but no luck so far
