Migrating sites to C5
Permalink
Hi, I'm new to C5. Was attempting to use Wordpress as a CMS... seems like a pain, C5 looks more straightforward. I'm wondering what the best way to migrate existing HTML/PHP sites to C5 would be... ones that are all cut up with include files. Do I need to rebuild whole page templates again or can I just leave all the includes as is.
Yea, C5 uses page templates instead of including different pieces of the page. It's way easier to start off with a static HTML doc and convert it from there.
Check out Andrew's video about converting an html template if you haven't already...

To keep things clean I'd always re-build.
Also, theres a big difference in the way C5 & WordPress work, so you would most likely save time building from scratch rather trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole! :)
