Mobile Theme and Cache

Hi guys

I am running 5.6.0.2 on a very complicated site that needs a mobile theme to avoid mobile browser issues.

http://tandemdigital.com/new_site...

However - as soon as we switch on cache (which is urgently needed for page to load in acceptable speed) all mobile devices load the cached page instead of mobile theme.

I found all kinds of threads about this but most of them are old and refer to the mobile-theme-switcher add-on.

Is there an easy fix for this? The solutions I found are beyond my technical abilities...

Thank you so much for your help!

Alexander

I am having the same problem with 5.6.1. I finally ended up combining both themes into one responsive theme so that both devices could load from the same cache. Although this works, it is forcing the mobile devices to download a lot more data then they need to.

Hi

thanks for your reply, good to know I am not alone...

Can you send me some more details about your solution? I am fairly new to mobile theme-ing.

Thanks

If you don't mind having separate specialized content for your mobile and desktop visitors then check out Mobile Home on the concrete5 Marketplace.http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/mobile-home/...

You can redirect just mobile or mobile and tablet devices to a mobile optimized area of your existing site. Easy links between mobile and full versions of your site (on the same domain) or even redirect to another mobile domain entirely.

Cheers!

PS - Separate pages for full and mobile versions of your site mean no cache issues. :D
