Multiple file picker not working (only single file per time)

multipleSelection option is not workin on concrete5.8+

You must select one file per time...

Yes, I can confirm that the option multipleSelection has been set to false with no way of setting it up yourself. I really don't know why though.

You might want to ask someone from the core team, maybe Korvin, in the Concrete5 Slack channel.
