Mutli-User Multi-blog

I am wondering if anyone has had success with the following tasks....
Creating a group called Bloggers and having new users automatically assigned to that group upon joining the site.
Having blog ages automatically created for new users as they join the site to where they can have their own blog. (I am looking for Wordpress.com functionality)
Having the users have ability to assign if a post they write wants to be public or private in which the public post would show up for others to read on that users blog...or the private would only be for the users friends to be able to read.
With that said, I would need add friend capabilities as well.
Thanks

two add-ons you should take a look at in the marketplace are Registrant Group and Request Friends.
The "ProBlog" ($40) addon allows you to allow site users to have their own blogs!

Also, as enlil mentioned, you may want to use these addons:
Registrant Group (FREE)

Friend Request ($15)

Thanks for the replies. I see that Registrant Group can do what I need as far as assigning users automatically to the group specified. Now I need to find out about adding blogging feature and setting up the new group to be able to post blogs.
Back to the drawing board to see what I can make happen.
