My Home page shows the login page

After a 5.6.2.1 upgrade (from a multiple upgrade, starting with a very old version), my site is only viewable when logged in. when logged out, the home page displays the sign up page and I can not view any of my web pages. I am doing this locally on my computer, sorry to say I can't give you a link. Anyone know where to check to see why the paths aren't working when logged out.

Not true, you can see this problem on a test site:http://www.pathology.washington.edu/clinical/collagen-upgrade/...

If the advanced permission isn't turned on, just check your Site Access section in dashboard system & settings. Login to your site and type "site access" in your intelligent search bar at the top.
Then change the settings as required.

If advanced permission is turned on, then let me know. I'll describe the process in details.

Thank you Rony for the quick response! Advanced permissions was NOT turned on, so I turned it on, and after clearing the cache and logging out, the same result occurred. The root path of the site is the signup page and I am not able to go to any pages while logged out.

On a side note, to the core developers of C5, I want to be loyal to Concrete5 because there are so many great things about this CMS. But, I can't believe how much goes wrong with almost every upgrade I do from sites that are from version 4.x. To make matters worse with this particular job, this client is a University and they do not allow me to work on their server. So, I get the site sent to me to upgrade and the SQL files are configured differently, so I have even more problems with this client, because of the server setup.

I can experiment with more than one version, so while I'm waiting for your response as to what to do next, I'm going to try doing the upgrade again from 4.x to see I can get a different result by trying some different approaches to the upgrade.

I just repeated the whole upgrade process in another folder, with another database, just to see if I'd get a different result. The upgrades were all successful, but the final result in the final upgrade presented the same problem. Upgrading from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.2.1 is where the glitch began of the home page showing the sign up single page and not allowing me to see any pages, unless I am logged in. Did I make to big of a leap upgrading from 5.5.2.1 to 5.6.2.1? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi there,

As Rony said, it looks very much like your site is just set to private, if you go to the following location:

dashboard > systems and settings > site access

it should be set to "Public" (screenshot attached.)

Thanks Vidall, You two are probably right, but I have a new problem preventing me from doing this, probably caused caused by changing the permissions to advanced. Now, when I go to site access section, I see this comment: "Your concrete5 site does not use the simple permissions model. You must change your permissions for each specific page and content area." I try changing site access in advanced permissions OR I go to each individual page, and I find a confusing table of choices all of which don't seem to apply and I don't understand. And, I am not going in and changing the permissions for each individual block and page. Screen shots enclosed.
