Nav question

I'm looking for a starting point and I think I know the right questions to ask to get to that starting point.
I'm wanting to build a nav similar to the nav arrows on the side of the content areas on USA Today's website (http://www.usatoday.com).
I'm thinking that it can be done with a Pageslide jquery, but as far as how to build the link for those arrows, I'm uncertain.
Is there a way to pull the next approved url from the db? For instance, from the Home page, would there be some sort of heirarchy for the next link in the tree?
Please let this make sense to someone! lol

You might have a look at the next previous nav in the core. I think you might be able to template it to do what you're looking for (it creates a nav based on the current page and its siblings).
The next previous nav block, that is.
Ah...never thought about using that. I'll give it a shot.
Thanks Evan!
Thanks Evan!
No probs, hope it works out for you.
I'm developing a block which is pretty similar with the navigation you want. You will be able to choose your nav page manually with having option to choose preset colors. Also you can set your custom colors as well as gradients. It will also provide option to choose font color for different nav items.
Have a look at the screenshot. Its near about same, just need some tweaking. If you want this, just shoot me a PM.
