Need a slider that actually links to new window.

Bought Slider Overlay and just spent the last 90 minutes trying to get the "any url" to actually work.

Unfortunately it doesn't have link window included (like free one) in edit/add image area so you have to add an attributes window.. no biggie but client will not be happy with this extra step.

Works fine.. problem is the code for open up in new window does not work. This is a must have... I tried every possible combo but maybe I missed something. Still not sure why free slideshow cannot have the "target="_blank like on stand alone images.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd rather just buy a slider that works as promised in that arena without having to add an attribute to every image. This is for ads so it will be a royal pain if client stuck with this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Concerning the first issue, having to add a file attribute for the link, that's what is advertised so probably not much you could do about that other than modify it yourself.

Concerning the not opening in a new window problem, if it's supposed to do that, you should really just contact the developer and ask for support. There's an option for that on the add-on's page and since it's a paid add-on, support is included and compulsory or your money back (provided there is really an issue with the add-on of course).

Thanks for the prompt response unfortunately this is time sensitive and I either have to drop it in favor of something else or be told what I missed doing :) ..or go back to a static image for the time being.

I was just hoping that someone might point me to another add-on. It just didn't make sense that the codes I tried didn't work.. perplexed.

Contacting support though as well although client purchased it so I am not sure if I can technically use it.. will try though.

Thanks again.

I could have a look at it and make a quick modification so it opens in a new window if you want. You can just send me a pm, I'll give you my email and you can send me the files.

Well the client who's very intuitive picked up where I was going to pick up this morning and test using the overlay to make it work. Which they did.

It's not a perfect solution but it helped for now.

Thanks again.

I still would like to find out how to make the link work without the overlay in use.

If you use a slider that displays blocks:

- If you want a manual action of clicking a link you could then use any block that shows a link or button.

- If you want automated redirect at the end of a slider sequence, I released a 'redirect when visible' block.
