Need help with searching for documents

I'm very new to C5, so I may have missed this information elsewhere. I have searched through the documentation as well as the forums, but have not found an answer to this question. I have a company intranet I am building and it will hold many documents. I am planning on having tabs that will separate out forms, policies, etc., then on each tab will be links to those documents in icon form. My issue is, when I add a document, I need to be able to search by keyword (not necessarily what is listed as the title) for those documents. I also would like the search function to not just take me to the page that holds the document, but to the document itself. Is this possible? If so, what do I need to do? Any help is highly appreciated!

Would making each document a separate page help?

You could then use all sorts of search criteria.

You could also link to certain parts of the document.

Steevb, thank you for the quick response! Unfortunately, having a separate page for each document would not work. I have 67 forms alone and I don't know how many policies and processes yet. We are trying to keep our site small to start with so we don't have too many pages to manage, since this is an ongoing project in addition to my regular job.

I have an addon available in the marketplace that MIGHT be along the lines of what you're looking for. Take a look at my "File List Pro" addon:

Hopefully that might be a good starting point.

Have you had a look at http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/document_library/...
?

I haven't used this myself, but it appears to have some useful search features.
