Need to uninstall Add-on from Dashboard but can't edit

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi I screwed up and deleted the files for an add-on, now it's showing in my dashboard add-on list but the edit button won't work to uninstall it so I can reinstall it.

Is there is a way to get it off the dashboard list so I can reinstall it from there?

I have the zip file but no clue how to install the add-on from the zip file.

Thanks

First of all... please don't post the same question multiple times. I'll try to help. I've been following your other post so I'm aware of your situation.

To try to remove the add-on from your dashboard, try the following:

When you hover over the Edit button, does the URL show up at the bottom of your browser? If so, take note of the number at the end of the URL. This is the package number in your system.

In your browser's address bar, type in the following address after your domain name but replace the ??? with the package number you noted earlier:

/index.php/dashboard/extend/install/uninstall/???/

For example, if the package number is 65 then the address you typed in should end up looking something like this:

http://www.thebigeventpage.com/index.php/dashboard/extend/install/uninstall/65/

Hit the enter button and hopefully you should be asked to confirm the removal of the package. If not then don't worry about it, just go on the the next step.

Uploading your zip file:
------------------------

Do you have FTP access to your server using a program such as Filezilla?

If so, do the following:

1) On your desktop, make a new folder called 'packages'.

2) Unzip your zip file to the new 'packages' folder on your desktop so that inside the 'packages' folder you have a folder called 'open_graph_tags_lite'.

3) Using Filezilla, navigate to, and open, the 'packages' folder on your desktop so that the 'open_graph_tags_lite' folder is visible on the 'Local' side of Filezilla and open the first 'packages' folder (not the concrete/packages' folder) on your server in the 'Remote' side of Filezilla so that you see a listing of your installed packages.

4) Right-click on the 'open_graph_tags_lite' folder and upload the whole folder to the packages folder on your server.

5) Open your Dashboard and go to 'Extend Concrete5'.

6) Scroll down to the 'Awaiting Installation' section and find 'Open Graph Tags Lite'.

7) Click the 'Install' button and pray.

If this works, you owe me a beer. If it doesn't work, you could always PM me your username and password and I could log in and see if I can get it cleaned up for you.

Hi, Sorry for double posting.

The first part didt't work so I went on to the second part and that worked after a little fooling around.

This is exactly what I needed, a step by step guide on how to do it and it was very clear. Now I have a much better understanding of how this works and hopefully it will help someone else too.

Thank you so much, I owe you a beer!

So now I added the Facebook block and used Open Graph Lite to choose my image and it all works perfectly! Thank you again!

I'm really glad it helped.

You can buy me a beer the C5 way. Just click on the 'Mark as Best Answer' in the header of my answer above and we'll call it square.
