I have this same problem. I followed the instructions on the link to change the "global scrapbook" so I could replace "My Site" with my organization name. It worked up to a point, but it won't let me edit it, so my long name runs into the navigation bar. When I click "view," it looks correct, but back on the page, it's still too big. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

If your organization name is a logo, you might have to size it and createit as a graphic using a graphics program (photoshop). Then upload it to your file manager. You have to create the logo out of the scrapbook first. Give it a try.

No, it's not a logo, just long--Kendall County Area Democratic Women. It's in a large font, and blue. No matter what editing I do to it, it still shows up the same.

Hi again - Ok I just finished changing a logo for the site myself. Not knowing the theme you are using, I will try to help giving general instructions. First off, are you using the global scrapbook My_Site_Name to change the site name? If so, use a graphic editor or the editor within the scrapbook. get to your dashboard> open scrapbook > clcik on global > click on "add block to scrapbook" > it will open the editor > using the editor, clcik on content > just type your site name choosing a font, font size, and highlight it and choose your blue color > click on update. This will place your work in the global scrapbook. Above it will be a Content with some number > clcik on it and rename it to My_Site_Name. Now go to return to website. You should see it in the header. If it is still too large > go back to the editor and resize it so that it will fit the allotted space. I hope this helps. Let me know the theme you are using and I may be able to give you more precise info

Yea! That (mostly) worked. There was one step in there that I hadn't done correctly. Now the only problem is that it's underlined in green (which I didn't put there). Any idea what that's about?

The theme I'm using is the basic "plain yogurt."

Hi Ya,- if you used the content editor, open it up again and makeusre you didn't clcikon the underline feature. Open it again and look at the buttons above the content box where your site name that you edited is located. Highlight the site name and go up and clcik underline until it goes away. Are we winning?

Hi Again - I loaded up plain yogurt. I was able to create your site name at font size 3 or 12pt and it fits. Not sure your font selection but it should fit. I have another trick to get it above your nav bar if you just can't get it. Let me know and I will help you. I am going to bed now EDST here almost 2:00 am. I am beat tryin to finish up 3 sites. Let meknow your time zone and we can get it workin tomorrow if you still need assitance.

Cheers

I hope you got some sleep. I'm in Central time zone--Texas. This is not an emergency, but I sure appreciate your help. I'm trying to learn this program because my web hosting company dropped the Page Wizard that I'd been using, and this is NOT very intuitive.
I've done all that with editing, removing the underline, etc., and it shows up okay in the content area, and I update it, but then when I go to the page, it's still red with a GREEN underline--something I didn't even know was possible.

GM Shoes,

Here is what I suggest, if for nothing else to get you more acquainted with C5. Go back to your scrapbook. Edit the site name you presently have in there. When the content editor opens, highlight the text and delete it . update it> and return to website to see if it is gone from the header. Now go back in , as above, and re-type your site name > highlight it > pick a font > pick your color > update it and go back to the web page to see what it looks like. Give that a try. You may need to clear your cache as well

Good advice surfsupjoe125,
To add to it: Don't hamstring yourself by using the basic editor. If you haven't already, go to Dashboard - Sitewide Settings - scroll to bottom right of page to see "Rich Text Editor" and select Office or one of the other advanced options to gain a more complete editing toolbar.
Don't overlook being able to create 2 lines of text in your site name. I activated Plain Yogurt in my sandbox site and played with it to good effect.
Follow the advice of Always clearing cache (on your browser too... F5) when you don't see changes you expect.
Lastly... set color and underlining often seems to indicate a hyperlink. If you are copy & pasting a link, you are seeing that automatic formatting. It will be best if you create from scratch in the editor instead of copy/paste if that is what you've been trying.

Good Luck w/ your new site :-)

How did you make out? did you get it figured out?

Been gone most of the day, but this evening the green underline is gone--don't know why. I think I had somehow told it to add a link. I didn't cut and paste it so I don't know how it happened, and I couldn't figure out how to tell it there was no link, but it just magically corrected itself. Tomorrow, on to the next problem! Thanks to both of you.
