Odd Behavior Upon Updating Block Values

I'm working on an image gallery and am getting some odd behavior. Everything works fine when I first add the block - images and the gallery works fine; all source code is correct.
Then, when I go to edit the block and save, nothing displays. The rendered code is there and all updated values are saved. However, nothing actually displays.
Weird.
Ideas on what might be wrong? I'm stumped.
