One Backend Language add-on
Permalink
We would like to have our sites translated in the front-end (Croatian), but at the same time we've habit to regularly work using English back-end.
WordPress has nice plugin called "One Backend Language" (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/one-backend-language/) which "Lets you choose your Backend Language for your complete Backend, also if your Frontend is using another Language...", so we wonder if there is something similar available for C5 and/or is it possible to do it easily?
Sincerely,
Gour

I'm not sure that's true, at least, iirc, it was not in 5.4.x.
> There is also the internationalization add on
I know about it, but I want separation of front-end from the back-end.

Have you tried downloading it to a test site ? I think that would be the easiest way to find out for sure. I played with the add on, and it didnt change my core, maybe a different version sure, but I would try it out that way you know for sure.

Atm, I play with 5.5.2 and I'm not aware (yet) of any language pack available.

Add-on is for managing multi-sites to help you translate *content* of the site site and switch between languages.
I'm concerned with the separation of front-end & back-end translations of the C5 core & add-ons.
Edit: Tried to download & install German language pack for 5.5.1 and, as anticipated, it changes back-end to the German as well.

Setup as many different languages as you want with this free add-on. You get complete flexibility for each language, but also the ability to quickly jump from one translation to another as you navigate the site.
There is also this how-to on localization which should also prove helpfulhttp://www.concrete5.org/documentation/developers/system/localizati...
Its at least something to look at, until someone comes along with an answer.
