One editable block for all pages of page type x?

Hi,

Tried a search, but couldn't find anything one this.

Is there a way to create an editable block that updates all pages of page type x?

An example: pagetypes:

- news
- press
- downloads

I set up a content block that appears in the default page type 'downloads' called 'footer info'. This 'footer info' block is editable in any new and existing pages that have been created using the 'download' page type.

When I update this one particular block, *all* blocks in page type 'downloads' are updated.

Is that possible?

Thanks

You can create a block in the global scrapbook, and then add it to the page defaults of the particular page ("downloads" in your case). Then, whenever you update the block in the global scrapbook, the changes will be reflected instantly on all the pages that block lives on. Does that make sense?

Ah, I didn't realise that all existing pages would be updated with that as well - I thought it would only affect any new pages created using that page type.
